From the the committee of Transgender 2009 — The Liberty Conference, welcome to our annual conference and the great city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! The conference will run from April 30 to May 2, with pre-conference activities earlier in the week. There will be daytime workshops addressing all aspects of transgender experiences and concerns. After dark, three nights of fun — a Delaware River Dinner Cruise and two nights of musical entertainment: Melissa Clark at the Friday Dinner Buffet and headliner Georgie Jessup at the Gala Banquet Saturday Night.
Spring is a great time to be in Philadelphia. Flowers are blooming, the scenery is beautiful, and the city is welcoming to the Trans community. There's lots to do — shopping, sightseeing, fabulous high and low (mmm-cheesesteaks!) dining, and great art and entertainment. As befits the Cradle of Liberty, the city center reveals important historical landmarks around almost every corner.

Helen's focus will center around issues of identity, intimacy, compromise, sex, family, and marriage. |
Thursday Night, A Special Outing!
When you're packing for the conference, you might want to bring your cruise-wear, because Thursday evening brings a special treat: dinner with a view, and then some! We'll be aboard the Spirit of Philadelphia as she glides up the Delaware River. After the bus ride to the dock at Penn's Landing there will be time to order drinks, socialize, and explore the ship before a multi-course dinner buffet, live musical revue, and dancing to the music of the Spirit DJs. All the while you'll be able to take in the sights of the sparkling city and other landmarks on the Pennsylvania and New Jersey shores — either cozily behind the panoramic windows, or topside on the outdoor patio deck.This evening event is included with your full conference registration.
