Christine Aramburu Alegria
Christine Aramburu Alegría is a nurse practitioner and teaches at the University of Nevada Reno. She is finishing her PhD in Social Psychology. She is a trans ally and hopes her research will be useful for all who work with trans individuals and their SO's.
Mariette Pathy Allen
Mariette Pathy Allen has been a professional photographer, writer and speaker on, and on behalf of, the TG community since 1978. She is the author of Transformations: Crossdressers and Those Who Love Themand The Gender Frontier which won the 2004 Lambda Literary Award in the transgender category. Mariette has been involved with IFGE's Transgender Tapestry magazine since the mid '80s as a photographerand writer. Her photographs have been exhibited widely in the USA and abroad. She has worked as a consultant and still photographer on five documentary films, including Southern Comfort.
Sam Allen LPC
Samuel Allen, LPC is a Licensed Psychotherapist who has worked with the TG community for over 25 years. Samuel has served as a consultant to over 60 organizations and media outlets including PBS, HBO, A&E, ABC's Nightline, and numerous universities. He is the founder of several transgender programs including The Transmen Health Project in Atlanta & SCC's Big Sister/Big Brother program (with co-founder Bev Blount). Samuel twice served as Conference Chair for the annual Southern Comfort Conference, where he was also a member of the SCC Board of Directors.
Rabbi Levi Alter
Levi Alter took FTM International in a new direction as President, successfully founding growing chapters in cities and states, as well as founding vibrant on-line communities to connect remote members. His many years of highly successful leadership on the boards of non-profit organizations provide the real world experience to develop leadership resources that will help you to start a local group or take your organization to the next level (state, national or international). Levi provided his leadership to the California Transgender Leadership Summits. Now you can harness his ways that work!
Dr. Michele Angello PhD
Dr. Michele Angello works with gender variant youth and adults. She offers individual, group and family therapy, as well as corporate education and training on a variety of issues of sexuality. She has presented internationally on her work with trans-youth and working with children of transitioning parents. She facilitates several monthly support groups for transgender adults, youth and parents. Dr. Angello has appeared on CNN with Larry King as well as the Tyra Banks show.
Dr. W. Meredith Bacon Ph.D.
Meredith Bacon PhD is Professor of Political Science at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of the National Center for Transgender Equality. She is the author of the forthcoming monograph on The Politics Of Transgender Equality, from which her workshop is extracted.
Stephanie Baldwin
Stephanie is a local Tucson poet and artist with a four decade long background of all things gender. She has always been stealth and has never gone to any sort of gender conference before.
Stephanie Battaglino
Stephanie Battaglino received her BA degree in Communication from the University of Delaware and has an MBA in Marketing from Farleigh Dickinson University. Stephanie is a trustee for IFGE's Winslow Street Fund, and is a member of the Gender Rights Advocacy Association of New Jersey (GRAANJ). She is featured in an episode of the documentary series Sex Change Hospital, which has aired in the United States on the Women's Entertainment network and in the United Kingdom. She also speaks regularly on behalf of the transgendered community throughout New Jersey and the New York metropolitan area.

Deitrich D. Benjamin
Deitrich D. Benjamin brings a unique combination of skills to the world of personal training. Your instructor is a seasoned personal trainer with over ten years of experience. She is certified by the Aerobic and Fitness Association of America. She conducts personal training one to one as well as in group settings. She specializes in cross-training enabling clients to take their strength and wellness out of the gym into everyday activities. With a medical/dental background she is well versed in the special needs of clients with osteoporosis, diabetes, and arthritis.
Stephanie Ann Blythe
Stephanie Ann Blythe has been a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley, California since 2001. She serves on several church committees, including chair of the LGBT Welcoming Congregation Committee. She is also on the Bay Area Advisory Board for the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies in Religion and Ministry at the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley. She initiated a resolution in support of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act that passed nearly unanimously at the 2007 Unitarian Universalist General Assembly.

Dr. Marci Bowers is a pelvic and gynecological surgeon with 22+ years experience. Practicing in legendary Trinidad, Colorado, Dr. Bowers has performed over 500 primary Genital Reassignment Surgeries. She has also been the subject of numerous television documentaries and features.
Dr. Pierre Brassard
Dr. Pierre Brassard is one of six surgeons on the GRS Montreal Team providing a wide-variety of cosmetic, gender, and health-related surgery. In 1990, Dr. Brassard began his private practice in Quebec City. Today, he performs over 130 GRS procedures annually as part of the more than 1200 procedures performed at his clinic. The Canadian Council for Health Services has recognized his facility for achieving the highest possible standard in health care services. Dr. Brassard's newest development is Asclepiade, a convalescence center co-joined to the hospital to enhance post-operative care and recovery. It offers a bed and breakfast setting with full accommodations and around-the-clock medical care.

Dr. Michael L. Brownstein M.D., FACS
Dr. Michael L. Brownstein is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, specializing in plastic, reconstructive and gender related surgery. He has performed gender related surgery since the late 1970's. Dr. Brownstein is a member of national plastic surgery organizations and societies including the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS) and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of WPATH (formerly HBIGDA) and currently serves on the Board of Directors and as Chairman of the Ethics Committee.

Monica Canfield-Lenfest
Monica Canfield-Lenfest is the adult daughter of a transgender father. She is working to expand the Kids of Trans program of COLAGE (www.colage.org) and develop further KOT resources. She is interested in meeting other people with transgendered parents and advocates for a deeper understanding and sensitivity to the issues facing family members of transgendered people.
Dr. Sandra Cole Ph.D.
Sandra S. Cole, Ph.D., has been Professor (ret.) and sexologist in academic medicine for 40 years at University of Minnesota and University of Michigan Medical Schools. She is an AASECT certified sexuality educator and counselor. Since 1982 Sandra has been a gender specialist, consultant, trainer and friend to most national gender organizations, conferences and groups. Founder and Director the U of MI Medical Ctr. Comprehensive Gender Services Program until 2000, she is now focusing on issues of social justice, policy and human rights for transgender persons, spouses, couples and families.

I'm Maria DeNicola and I recently celebrated my 25th anniversary as an electrologist. Lore M. Dickey
Lore M. Dickey is a full-time graduate student at the University of North Dakota. He is in his third year of the Counseling Psychology PhD program. Lore has a variety of scholarly interests, one of those being understanding the multicultural aspects associated with transition. Lore grew up in Phoenix, AZ and spent nearly 30 years in the Seattle area before relocating to ND in 2005. He enjoys learning and taking risks. He began his own FTM transition in 1999. He is an out gay man with a 16 year lesbian history.
Dr. Michelle Dietert
Dr. Michelle Dietert is currently an adjunct faculty member at Texas Woman's University and North Texas Central College, where she teaches sociology. Dr. Dietert's goal as a teacher and scholar is to contribute to efforts that cultivate a wide diversity of people and perspectives. Her research focuses on the lived experiences of transgender individuals in areas such as employment discrimination, early socialization experiences, health insurance, dealing with doctors and medical staff, and relationships with significant others and family members, to name a few.
Dr. Richard F. Docter PhD
Richard Docter, PhD is the author of Transvestites and Transsexuals. (1988) Plenum Press. He has also written biographies of Virginia Prince and Christine Jorgensen and published research on the assessment of gender identity and other dimensions of transgender behavior. Docter is a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) and is a Fellow (Clinical Psychology) of the American Psychological Association.
Dr. Kenneth Dollarhide
Kenneth Dollarhide has a Ph.D. in Religious Studies. Teaches and has published in the area of Native American Religions and East Asian Buddhism. He is the Dean of Arts and Humanities at Richard Stockton College in Pomona, N. J.
Katie Driscoll and Stephanie Marchese
Driscoll and Marchese are both graduates of Simmons College in Boston each earning two Master's in Gender/Cultural Studies and Teaching. Driscoll is currently an 8th grade Civics' teacher in Needham, MA. Marchese teaches in the Alternative Education Department in Boston Public Schools. They share a home, a cat, one car, their lowly teacher paychecks, and $150,000 in student loan debt.

Richard Ekins is Professor of Sociology and Cultural Studies at the University of Ulster at Coleraine, UK, where he directs the Transgender Archive. He is the author of numerous books, including Blending Genders (with Dave King, 1996) and The Trangender Phenomenon (with Dave King, 2006).

Dr. Miqqi Gilbert Ph.D.
Miqqi Alicia Gilbert, Ph.D. a.k.a. Michael A. Gilbert is Professor of Philosophy at York University, Toronto, Canada. S/he has published two novels as well a popular book on argument, now going into a third edition y tiene una alma latina. More recently s/he has been publishing scholarly articles in the areas of Argumentation Theory and Gender Theory in scholarly journals. Miqqi Alicia is a life- long cross dresser and an activist in the international transgender community. S/he is the book review editor and regular columnist for Transgender Tapestry, the magazine of the IFGE.

Lori B. Girshick is a researcher, write and activist, Her book Transgender voices: Beyond women and men (2008 UPNE) is based on interviews with 150 trans-identified individuals. Girshick teaches Sociology at Chandler-Gilbert community college and lives in Mesa AZ.

Jamison Green is an author, educator, corporate diversity trainer, and policy consultant specializing in transgender and transsexual issues. He served 2-terms on the board of IFGE, and served as president of FTM International from 1991 to 1999. He won the Virginia Prince Award in 1998. He is a founding director of the Transgender Law & Policy institute and is serving a second term on the board of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health. His book, Becoming a Visible Man, won "Best Book in Transgender Studies" from the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies in NY in 2005.

Monica Helms is the President of the Transgender American veterans Association and is on the Board of IFGE. She is also on the Advisory Board of NCTE and the Military Equality Alliance. Monica has been an activist for 10 years, in Arizona, Georgia, and nationally. She also has a chapter in the book Transgender People in Love.

Christine Johnson
Christine Johnson is a recent graduate of the Master of Environmental Studies program at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, where she studied a range of health issues and their connection to the "built" and "natural" environment. She has advocated on this topic for the last seven years, and her work was featured in The Riddle of Gender: Science, Activism, And Transgender Rights, by Deborah Rudacille in 2005. She is in the process of writing a book with a similar theme which is planned for 2008.

Sat Bir Kaur Khalsa
Sat Bir Kaur Khalsa converted to Sikh Dharma in 1971 because a foundational practice is to uphold the human rights of all persons without exception. She helped form the Tucson Multi-Faith Alliance, bringing together many segments of the community to build on common threads among different religions by bridging the universal themes of understanding and respect. Sat Bir holds a Masters Degree in Women’s Studies from the University of Arizona. Her work includes: Tucson Interfaith HIV/AIDS Network (TIHAN); serving as a Commissioner for the Tucson Human Relations Commission; the MLK Celebration Planning Committee; the Inter-religious Council of Southern Arizona; and she is the recipient of 2007 LULAC (League of United Latin American Citizens) Certificate of Community Service.
Jeanne M. Kleespie
Jeanne M. Kleespie is the Assistant Vice President for Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action at the University of Arizona. She has worked at the University of Arizona since 1988 and in the Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Office since 1996. The University added gender identity and expression to its nondiscrimination policy in 2005 and since then Jeanne has lead the Transgender Project focusing on Trans inclusion, including the adoption of the Restroom Access Statement. She has an MBA from the Helsinki School of Economics and a JD from the University of Arizona.

Dr. Sherman Leis is Founder and Director of the Philadelphia Center for Transgender Surgery. He is also Professor and Chairman of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Board Certified in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery, he has been in practice for over 30 years.
Nathen Levitt
Nathan Levitt is the Community Education Coordinator at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center. Callen-Lorde is New York City's only primary health care center dedicated to meeting the health care needs of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities and people living with HIV/AIDS-regardless of any patient's ability to pay. Nathan is a transgender activist who has trained universities, health centers, medical schools, and community based organizations on transgender health needs for years. He also leads workshops on anti-racism, dismantling oppressions, and transfeminism.
Christine McGinn MD
Dr. McGinn is fully trained in General Surgery as well as Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Based in Doylestown, PA she started Papillon Gender Wellness Center in 2000 in order to provide affordable and diversified transition services under one roof. She has been involved in many aspects of the trans-movement at a grass roots level as well as an international level. Most notably she sits on the National Advisory Counsel to Former Surgeon General David Satcher, M.D. where she brings attention to sexual health issues for the TG community in a national forum.
Dr. Toby Meltzer
Dr. Toby Meltzer graduated from LSU Medical School in 1983; began practice at Oregon Health Sciences University in 1990, private practice in 1996 and moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 2003. He is board certified in both General and Plastic Surgery. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. He operates out of Scottsdale Healthcare, Greenbaum Surgery Center.
Raquel Mrozowski
Raquel Mrozowski, M.S.W., Shelter Director, Tucson Centers for Women and Children. Extensive experience in domestic violence, LGBT relations, and creating service accessibility. Oversees all operational, on-site implementation, and staff training.
Karen Orr MM
Karen Orr, MM, Director of Programs for Tucson Centers for Women and Children. Extensive experience in domestic violence services and management. Oversees policy, training and programmatic implementation of transgender shelter program.
Dr. Maureen Osborne Ph.D.
Dr. Osborne is a psychologist in private practice in the Philadelphia suburb of Malvern. She has been working with transfolks and their families for 15 years and has given many presentations at workshops and conferences on gender identity issues. Dr. Osborne is a WPATH member and a loyal and loving straight ally of the GLBT community.
Dr. Douglas Ousterhout
Dr. Douglas Ousterhout is a full professor at the University of California, San Francisco. He was educated at the University of Michigan, Stanford University and Paris, France, where he did a fellowship with Dr. Paul Tessier. He specializes in craniofacial, maxillofacial, and plastic surgery in San Francisco, Calif. He has pioneered techniques and procedures in the feminization of the male face, authoring texts, journal articles and other publications on that and other subjects. He is Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and holds memberships in 18 medical societies world wide.
Dr. Pauline Park
Pauline Park (paulinepark.com) chairs the New York Association for Gender Rights Advocacy (nyagra.com) and serves as vice-president of the board of directors of the Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund (transgenderlegal.org). Park led the campaign for the transgender rights law enacted by the New York City Council in 2002. She did her Ph.D. at the University of Illinois and has written widely on LGBT issues. Park has conducted transgender sensitivity training for a wide variety of organizations. She was the first openly transgendered grand marshal of the NYC Pride March (June 2005).
Liana Perez
Liana Perez is the Director of the Office of Equal Opportunity Programs and Independent Police Review for the City of Tucson. She is a fifth generation Tucsonan and has worked in the field of civil rights for over 15 years, including with the City of Tucson and with the Arizona Attorney General's Civil Rights Division.
Clark A. Pomerleau
Clark Pomerleau teaches gender history at U. North Texas, advises the student trans group, is writing a monograph on 1970s-80s U.S. feminism and researches relationships among anti-sexist masculinities, FtMs, and feminism.
Karyn Prechtel
Karyn Prechtel is the Managing Librarian at the Joel D. Valdez Main Library of the Pima County Public Library system in Tucson, Arizona. She holds a Masters in Information Resources and Library Science from the University of Arizona.
Leondra Price
Leondra Price is a Sr. Equal Opportunity Specialist in Training and Program Development for the City of Tucson. She is dynamic, enthusiastic, and inspiring. She is a seasoned Trainer/Facilitator with over 20 years of experience in public speaking, training and program development, business development, information and learning systems, market research management and human resources. She brings strong analytical and problem solving skills, an engaging presentation style and is a skilled workshop leader and public speaker.
Shannon Randall
Shannon Randall is a second year Masters student in Women's Studies at the University of Arizona. Randall is currently working on his Masters thesis which examines how history is being deployed when women who commit infanticide are labeled "modern Medeas."

Dr. Marisa Richmond
Marisa is President of the Tennessee Transgender Political Coalition. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Equality Project & Board of Advisors of NCTE. she is a former Board Member of AEGIS, IFGE, NTAC, & Nashville's Rainbow Community Center. She served as Co-Chair of Southern Comfort in 2001, chaired the host committee of the 2002 IFGE Convention in Nashville, & served on the Planning Committee for Nashville Black Pride in 2004. She won the Trinity Award in 2002 & the HRC Equality Award in 2007.
Kendall Roark
Kendall Roark is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Anthropology at Temple University, currently writing her dissertation on volunteerism and activism in LGBT communities. In 2006 she acted as the primary investigator and research intern for the SAGA (Southern Arizona Gender Alliance) Health and Social Service Needs Assessment.
Donna Rose
Donna Rose is a nationally active speaker, writer and advocate for transgender and transsexual issues. Her website, www.donnarose.com, is a well-known source for transgender support. An article about Donna’s workplace transition was featured in a story in DiversityInc Magazine in 2002 that was nominated for a 2003 GLAAD Media Award. Donna was honored to participate in the historic 2004 V-Day performance of The Vagina Monologues in Los Angeles featuring transgendered women from across the country. She has been featured in numerous print and television spots including a recent article in Marie Claire magazine. In October 2004 Donna was honored to present actress Jessica Lange with an achievement award at the 2004 Human Rights Campaign (HRC) National dinner in Washington, DC.

Donna is very active in workplace diversity efforts. She is an active member of the Human Rights Campaign Business Council, and was a contributor to their recent ground-breaking Transgender Tool for Managers publication. She was one of a small group of transgendered advocates invited to speak to HRC leadership about supporting only a trans inclusive ENDA. She works with businesses across the country on trans workplace issues and policy.
Joni Kay Rose M.Div, VHT
A freelance writer since 1985, Joni Kay Rose is an experienced counselor, hypnotherapist, teacher, and public speaker. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in cultural anthropology, and a Master of Divinity degree from the Starr King School for the Ministry. Her first book, The Joy Beyond Craving: A Buddhist Perspective On Addiction And Recovery, was published in 2003. Her second book, Over The Gender Rainbow: My Long Odyssey Back To Womanhood is expected out in late 2008. Joni Kay began her transition from male to female in her late fifties, finally completing it at age 61.
Erin Russ
Erin Russ started her biblical studies as a student attending a Baptist college in Texas. She has been a student, writer and teacher on the Bible and Christianity for over 20 years. Her unorthodox approach to life is evident in the unique, challenging approach she applies to her study of the Bible.

Joelle Ruby Ryan
Joelle Ruby Ryan is a Ph.D. Candidate in American Culture Studies at Bowling Green State University (BGSU). Her research interests include trans identity, film and media, sex work, feminism and fat studies. She is the author of Gender Quake: Poems and producer of the films TransAmazon and Genderfucked . At BGSU she founded the group Transcendence and helps to coordinate the annual Transgender Awareness Days. In 2007, she was named the first male-to-female transgender scholar by The Point Foundation. Ryan also serves on the Governing Council of the National Women's Studies Association.
Dr. Sandra Samons ASCW
Sandra is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Social Work (M.S.W. 1976) and of the San Francisco Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality (PhD 2001). She began specializing in gender identity issues in 1992. She is an AASECT Certified Diplomat of Sex Therapy and a member of the World Professional Assn. for Transgender Health (WPATH, formerly HBIGDA). She has authored several works related to transgender including Building Your Own Prison (available online) and a book on transgender sexual orientation due for publication by Haworth Press, hopefully sometime in 2008.
Wendy Sampson
Wendy Sampson will earn her Master of Arts from the University of Arizona Department of Women's Studies in May of 2008. In addition to her work as a research assistant on the Prism Project, she is currently developing programs for transgender and gender-variant youth, their families, and their communities through the Southern Arizona Gender Alliance (SAGA) and Wingspan. When not working, Wendy enjoys crafting, gardening, and riding her bike.
Dr. Richard L. Schott
Richard Schott is a professor at the University of Texas at Austin and a researcher of transgender issues. One of his major teaching fields is social diversity and within that rubric, transgenderism. He is the author of several peer-reviewed articles on the topic as well as papers at various professional meetings. He is also active in several nonprofit organizations in the Austin area which seek to improve public understanding and acceptance of the transgendered community through public outreach.
Rina Schroeder
Rina Schroeder is the creator of Body Contour Spa, a healing spa offering the latest in non-invasive beauty, anti-aging and wellness therapies. Her passion for wellness, holistic healing and beauty evolved from her intensive residential studies of Yoga and ancient healing traditions. Amanda Simpson
Amanda Simpson, is a senior employee of over twenty years at Raytheon Missile Systems. She remained in the same position since prior to her gender transition, working with management and human resources to smooth concerns. Since her successful workplace transition, Amanda has consulted and advised numerous employers and gender variant employees. Amanda became the first openly transgender candidate to win a primary election in the United States in her run for the Arizona State Legislature in 2004. 2004 Tucson YWCA Woman on the Move Award, 2005 Arizona Human Rights Fund Individual honoree.

Moonhawk River Stone, M.S., LMHC is a psychotherapist, consultant, educator and writer in private practice in the Albany, NY area; and is, himself, an out, open and proud transsexual man. Stone is a political activist for transgender civil rights and for transgender healthcare. Stone is a former Board Chair of the International Foundation for Gender Education, Inc. (IFGE) and former Board Co-chair of the New York Association for Gender Rights Advocacy, Inc. (NYAGRA). Currently he serves on the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Foundation, Inc. Board of Directors, and he Chair of GLMA's Transgender Health Care Committee. Stone is a leading proponent of removing GID from the DSM.

Josephine Tittsworth, LMSW has been the Co-Chair for the Houston Transgender Unity Committee (HTUC), Board of Directors for the Society for the Second Self, and currently the Research Chair on the Board of Directors for the National Transgender Advocacy Coalition (NTAC). She has been published by Columbia University Press, Journal for GLBT Studies, and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). She is currently a doctoral student at the University of Houston. Bobbie Williams is a professional educator and author. She was a founding member of the Central Texas Transgender Society, served as Secretary of the Transgender Independence Club and on the board of the National Coalition for LGBT Health. She also served as the Director of Rainbow Access Initiative (RAI) (a state of New York funded program to train Health and Human Services professionals in the NY capital region), on the Steering Committee of the New York State Dignity for All Students Coalition and the GENDA Coalition.

Since 2003, C. Michael Woodward has led the Southern Arizona Gender Alliance (www.sagatucson.org), providing support and advocacy services for gender-diverse people, and works part-time as an Advocate/Educator on the Wingspan Anti-Violence Project.
