Monica Canfield-Lenfest
Monica Canfield-Lenfest is the adult daughter of a transgender father. She is working to expand the Kids of Trans program of COLAGE (www.colage.org) and develop further KOT resources. She is interested in meeting other people with transgendered parents and advocates for a deeper understanding and sensitivity to the issues facing family members of transgendered people.

Children of Transgender Parents

This workshop will discuss the experience of people with transgender parents. We will discuss the experience of a parent coming out, impacts on the family, and transition from a child's perspective. There will be a discussion of resources available to children with transgender parents, specifically focusing on the Kids of Trans Program at COLAGE.

 
When a Parent Transitions
Friday 3:30 PM
This workshop will discuss the ways in which several families have chosen to support their children when a parent transitions. Considerations will be made with regard to developmental appropriateness of information (i.e.. keeping the child's age in mind) and will briefly discuss therapeutic methods that have allowed the children to develop resiliency and a better understanding of their parent's experience.
