| Pauline Park will bring her experience with legislative work to bear in updating conference attendees on the current state of transgender law and public policy in New York and nationally, including prospects for enactment of the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act (GENDA), the transgender rights bill currently pending in the state legislature, as well as the transgender-inclusive Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), currently pending in Congress. |

Pauline Park (paulinepark.com) currently serves as chair of the New York Association for Gender Rights Advocacy (nyagra.com), which she co-founded in 1998. Park led the campaign for the transgender rights law enacted by the New York City Council in 2002 and negotiated inclusion of gender identity and expression in the Dignity for All Students Act, currently pending in the New York State Senate. In 2005, she became the first openly transgendered grand marshal of the New York City Pride March. Park did her Ph.D. in political science at the University of Illinois. She has written widely on LGBT issues and has conducted transgender sensitivity training sessions for a wide range of organizations. Park was the subject of Envisioning Justice, a documentary about her life that premiered in 2008. |
