About TransEvents USA, Inc.

TransEvents USA, Inc. produces conferences, conventions, workshops, seminars, lectures and events for the greater T community. We welcome those who are crossdressers, transgendered, transsexual, male-to-female (mtf) or female-to-male (ftm), intersexed, androgynous, agender, gender queer, gender variant, two spirit, drag king, drag queen, queer, straight, butch, femme and any others (with apologies) not listed. We also welcome those involved in any way with the people in our community: significant others, wives, husbands, partners, friends, family, admirers, employers, healthcare professionals, and the general public.
TransEvents USA Inc was originally founded in 1986 as Cioe Enterprises and incorporated as TransEvents USA in 2005. It is a Pennsylvania non-profit educational corporation and is recognized by the I.R.S. as a 501c(3) charitable organization.
TEUSA's founders, Dr. S. Kristine James, Executive Director and Alison Laing, Director of Plans and Programs, have been active in the transgender community for many years.
TransEvents USA Inc. is a membership organization that welcomes all individuals, businesses, and organizations. Membership is free. Attending an event hosted or managed by us brings you TEUSA membership for the next three years. You can also join our mailing list by request — just
send us your complete mailing name and address, your email address, and (optionally) your telephone number. Membership in TEUSA brings advance notice and special discounts at our events, a periodic newsletter, and other benefits that may be added at a later date.

Dr. S. Kristine James is a noted lecturer, educator, publisher, and management consultant.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, with a minor in Marketing and Economics, from the University of Rochester in New York, and a Master of Science degree in Management Information and a Doctorate in Business Administration from Century University.
Dr. James spent many years employed by public and privately owned business in finance and banking. In 1983 she started a publishing company which grew into a major multi-division, multinational business over a sixteen year span. It was sold in 2002 and is still in operation. She is semi-retired, but still directs her event planning and management company.
Kristine has been active in the Trans Community since 1986 when she formed
Cross Dressers International and the Greater New York Gender Alliance, which represents various groups in the Greater New York City area. She has been on the board of directors and the executive committee of the
International Foundation for Gender Education (IFGE) for a number of years, serving as Treasurer.

She is the president of the conference management company TransEvents USA, Inc., and serves as the co-chair of the annual IFGE conference.
Alison Laing has been an active participant and leader in the Transgendered community since coming out in 1986 at Fantasia Fair. She has been active in IFGE since 1987, and has served as its Executive Director. She was Secretary to the Board of Directors from 1998 to 2004 and is Co-Chair of IFGE Conferences. Alison has won the IFGE
Trinity Award, and along with her wife Dotty, the
Virginia Prince Award for Outstanding Service to the Community.
Alison was the Director of the 1994, 1995, 1998 and 2000
Fantasia Fairs as well as the chair of the sponsoring organization, the Outreach Institute of Gender Studies, from 1993 through 1995. She has received the Fantasia Fair
Ms Congeniality and
Ms Fantasia Awards as well as the OIGS
Outreach Award. She continues to support Fantasia Fair as a member of the Fair Committee.
Alison is a founding member and past Managing Director, Treasurer, and Outreach Co-Chairperson for the
Renaissance Education Association. She has served on the boards of AEGIS,
Gender-PAC, and the Rikki Swin Institute Advisory Board.
Alison holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Engineering, and an M.S. in Management from an Ivy League University; served two years in the Armed Services as an Officer; and has over 30 years experience in high technology, beginning in R&D and moving into management and marketing.
